Community philanthropy involves community members working together and leveraging community resources to better address challenges and to improve the quality of life in rural communities.

To unite dignity, purpose, and service, where individuals can learn, build their skills, gain knowledge and wisdom, mental support, and/or financial resources for the benefit of themselves and the whole community.

Poverty in Australia is a fact of life for many residents. The country is one of the wealthiest developed countries in the world, but that does not mean the country doesn’t have poverty.

Our Purpose

The Rural Communities Social Services Inc. (RCSS) provides emergency relief supporting people experiencing financial distress or hardship and who have limited means or resources to help them alleviate their financial crisis.  Being the first point of contact for an individual with complex needs, allowing for referral to more intensive support such as financial counselling or mental health or alcohol and other drugs support.  To further provide, immediate financial and/or material support to people in financial and emergency/disaster crisis.  Assistance is delivered by giving/seeking shelter, food, transport or vouchers, food parcels, hygiene facilities such as showers and laundry, clothing budgeting assistance and/or referrals to other services that help to address underlying causes of financial and psychological crisis We also support their animals and the wildlife on country warriors.

poverty means being denied what most of us take for granted: a secure job, a home, a sense of belonging, connection to others, empowerment and dignity.
